Let’s discuss an untapped brand experience goldmine: User-Generated Content (UGC).
Your customers are one of your most powerful brand marketing tools.
Your customers are talking about you. They're sharing their experiences, posting photos, and leaving reviews. Their voices matter, and it's time to take advantage of what they’re saying.
Leveraging user-generated content strategically can enhance your brand's reputation and trustworthiness.
Reviews, testimonials, and social media posts are all great items to utilize in your marketing strategy. (Yes, even the negative reviews…we can use them to grow and make our business better.)
UGC is authentic feedback about your business, which is why it’s so appealing to your potential customers. They want to know how people like them have benefited from what you have to offer.
Here are 3 tips for incorporating UGC into your marketing strategy:
Set up an automated listening tool.
You can’t be all over the internet every day, but you need to know what people are saying about your business. Tools like Google Alerts allow you to be notified when certain words or phrases are discussed on the internet.
Build UGC into your content strategy.
Consider sharing an IG story or a post each week with a review or testimonial. This allows others to see what people are saying about your brand, which helps you build credibility.
PRO TIP: Download all your reviews into a spreadsheet and save it out as a CSV file. Create a review template in Canva, and bulk upload the reviews into your template. Bulk content creation is a huge time saver.
Request UGC from current customers.
Set up an automated email to be sent to your customers after their purchase. Ask them for their feedback on your product or service.
PRO TIP: Respond to ALL feedback you’re given. Your response is huge for reputation management!
