A good project management process is repeatable.
Without a good project management process, 12%+ of your time and money are being wasted each month due to ineffective project management.
The first key to a strong process is making that process repeatable. In fact, this works for ALL your different internal processes, not just project management. Repetition will help you build an automation system that will save you time and money. If it’s not repeatable, you can’t automate, and therefore it’s a time suck.
Simple as that.
Here’s our simple 3 step project management process:
Clients get us tasks (via email or slack).
We require our clients to categorize each request with a title, a description of what needs to be done, and a deadline. We don’t take same day requests unless it’s an emergency, like something that would cause revenue loss.
Our Project Manager puts those tasks in Asana (our PM system).
Check out our PM Asana blueprint here.
The Project Manager assigns to person to complete with the deadline.
Asana sends an automatic email to notify the assignee of the task.
From here, all communication about the task can happen using the comments feature on Asana. Asana also handles the nagging. The program sends daily emails and notifications with upcoming tasks, which makes it almost impossible to miss a deadline if you are checking your account regularly.
Did I mention that Asana is free?!
If your project management process is a shit show right now, give this system a try and say goodbye to missed deadlines and hello to a beautiful organized, automated system.
