Your website is one of the first places people learn about your business.
When people click onto your site, you have three seconds to capture and keep their attention.
If your website is busy, chaotic, or unclear, you’re likely going to lose that potential customer/client. (And most of those people who leave won’t come back.)
So what’s the secret to keeping people on your site?
It’s simple: less is more.
Clear messaging that solves a problem, a clean design that isn’t visually overwhelming, and a very obvious CTA.
I’ve built hundreds of websites throughout my career, and I always use the same fundamentals on each one.
Here are four things to consider when building (or rebuilding) your website:
Embrace Minimalism
Embracing simplicity in design is the number one thing to focus on. By decluttering your site and focusing on only the essential elements, you enhance user experience and broadcast your message with clarity.
Utilize Whitespace
Whitespace isn't just empty space. It's a powerful tool that gives some breathing room and improves comprehension. Don't be afraid of some blank areas. Our eyes NEED it!
Keep Your Color Palette Cohesive
A well-curated color palette enhances visual appeal and reinforces brand identity. Stick to a limited selection of colors, making sure you have some neutral options to prevent visual overwhelm.
Prioritize Intuitive Navigation
Seamless navigation is key to keeping users engaged and on your site. Design menus and pathways that users can click through easily.
